The Gonka network uses a collateral system to ensure participants have skin in the game. Until now, checking your collateral status meant querying the blockchain directly. That changes with this update — collateral data is now integrated directly into the GonkaHub dashboard, and our Telegram bot @GonkaHubBot will keep you informed in real time.
What's New
Collateral Status on the Network Page
The /network page now shows collateral status for every participant right in the main table. At a glance, you can see:
- ✅ Full — collateral covers 100% of your weight. You're earning at full capacity.
- ⚠️ Partial — collateral is below the required threshold. Your effective weight may be reduced.
- ❌ None — no collateral deposited. Only 20% of your base weight is active.
Click on any participant to open the detail modal, where a new Collateral tab shows the full picture: total amount staked, coverage percentage, and a history of all deposits and withdrawals.
Shield Indicators for Saved Participants
If you've saved specific nodes to your watchlist (the "Saved Participants" panel), each card now displays a shield icon:
- 🟢 Green shield — collateral is healthy, full coverage
- 🔴 Red shield — no collateral or insufficient coverage
This makes it easy to monitor your own nodes or nodes you care about without opening each one individually.
Telegram Alerts via @GonkaHubBot
The biggest addition: real-time Telegram notifications for collateral events. Subscribe to network alerts through @GonkaHubBot and you'll receive:
🔔 Deposit & Withdrawal alerts Get notified when any tracked participant deposits or withdraws collateral. Know immediately when the network's collateral landscape shifts.
⚠️ Coverage warnings The bot monitors coverage levels and alerts you when they drop below safe thresholds: - Low coverage — your buffer is thin; a slashing event could push you below 100% - Warning — coverage has dropped, and your effective weight is being reduced - Critical — no collateral detected, operating at minimum 20% weight
🔪 Slashing alerts If a participant gets slashed (penalty for misbehavior), you'll know right away — including the amount slashed and remaining coverage.
📋 Governance parameter changes
When the network votes to change collateral parameters (like collateral_per_weight_unit), all subscribers receive a notification with the old and new values.
Why Collateral Matters
Every participant in the Gonka network has a weight that determines their share of mining rewards. Without collateral, only 20% of your base weight is active. Depositing collateral unlocks the remaining 80%.
The current formula makes full coverage achievable with a minimal deposit — but as the network grows and governance adjusts parameters, maintaining adequate collateral will become increasingly important. Slashing penalties for misbehavior can reduce your collateral, so staying informed is critical.

- Subscribe to alerts — open @GonkaHubBot in Telegram and subscribe to network notifications
- Deposit collateral — if your status shows ⚠️ or ❌, deposit through the Gonka CLI or web interface to activate your full weight
